The Fishery
Growing up in coastal Massachusetts offers ample open water to successfully fish from shore for a variety of species. The main species we target at camp is the striped bass which migrate into local waters in May and head back down south to breed around November. Stripers will eat countless different types of lures and bait which will be shown. Other species we see are bluefish, flounder, sea bass, and skates. Because the population of stripers is in decline, the conservation of the local fishery is taught and we practice all catch and release no matter if the fish is keeper size or not.
